Amusia is a narrative film project about a music artist that slowly discovers he has a rare condition where he can no longer perceive music. Based on a real life condition. The dictionary describes Amusia as; The inability to recognize musical tones or to reproduce them. Amusia can be congenital (present at birth) or be acquired sometime later in life (as from brain damage). Typically all other aspects of hearing perception are intact. This movie takes us into the life of Tommy Princeton, who is dramatically affected by the condition. Someone who has dedicated their life to music, but can no longer have it in his life. His hopes and dreams attached to something he took for granted is now lost. We follow Tommy’s journey as he discovers what Amusia is, how his life comes apart and how he eventually learns to cope by digging deeper into himself to find other, hidden aspects of his personality.
